What is HPRPG.net?
   HPRPG.net is a Harry Potter roleplaying game. The board follows no specific timeline; we've simply set the roleplay in the world of the Harry Potter books using as much canon-based information as we currently have available. We are a free-form, message board-based RPG open to anyone over the age of 13. We also consider ourselves a 'teaching RPG' that introduces those who are new to text-based RPG to ways in which they can become better roleplayers, including tutorials. We hope you enjoy your visit and that you will consider joining our active roleplay community!
The History of HPRPG.net
   HPRPG.net started way back in October 2003. Originally it was simply called 'Hogwarts Roleplay', but after a few false starts with hosting, the site was transferred and settled at the HPRPG.net domain. Ever since that time we have made it our goal to create an environment that stays as close to Harry Potter canon as possible while still allowing our members to be creative. We try to adjust to the needs of our community and are constantly coming up with ways to make HPRPG.net one of the best Harry Potter Roleplaying games available.

   HPRPG.net strives to maintain the continuity and integrity of the works of J.K. Rowling by fostering a game framework which adheres to the reality created in the Harry Potter books (including 'spoiler' information from all books!) We aspire to create an environment that is family-friendly, appropriate, and enjoyable for both children and adults. We encourage players to be creativite within the game framework of the Harry Potter universe while maintaining its integrity. We endeavor to create an equal footing between new and experienced roleplayers by encouraging all of our members to complete our roleplaying and character development tutorials and to foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all members. Most of all, we aim to HAVE FUN!
